Who are we?
The North Coast Nightmares are the primary roller derby team operated by the Terrace Roller Derby Association (TRDA), a non‑profit athletic organization dedicated to promoting, developing, and advancing flat‑track roller derby in Terrace and Northwest British Columbia.
As part of TRDA, the Nightmares embody the Association’s mission: To foster a positive, inclusive, empowering roller derby community grounded in accountability, growth, and teamwork.
We welcome skaters aged 16+, of all genders and experience levels, and maintain both WFTDA‑aligned and open‑gender rosters to ensure everyone has opportunities to participate.
What is Roller Derby?
Roller derby is a fast-paced, full-contact team sport played on roller skates. Teams compete on an oval track, where a designated scorer called the jammer earns points by passing opposing players while blockers use strategy and teamwork to help their jammer and the the opposition.
Derby is known for its exciting gameplay and inclusive community, roller derby welcome people of all background and skill levels, making it a unique and empowering sport for athletes and fans alike.
